Alexander

Jimenez

Alexander Jimenez is a native of Boston, MA and started his dance training at Jeannette Neill’s Dance Studio under the guidance of Jim Viera. He then went on to study dance at Marymount Manhattan College in New York City. While in Manhattan, Alex was awarded scholarships to study at the Martha Graham School of Dance by his teacher Denise Vale. Alex was also awarded scholarships by Alexandra Wells to study and perform at Springboard Danse Montréal which Ms. Wells established in 2001. Alex has worked as a dancer in the movie ‘Little Woman’ and has recently obtained his GYROKINESIS® movement method teacher license.

Odessa Rain Anderson

attended Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts and recently graduated with a BFA in dance from Boston Conservatory. She received a Yearly Merit Scholarship from the Conservatory. She spent her summers at the Joffrey School of Ballet and the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. While at Boston Conservatory she performed in the works of Otis Salid, Jon Ole Olstad, Brian McGinnis, Gregory Dawson, Yury Yanowsky, and Stephanie Martinez. Odessa also choreographed several her own works. Since graduating, Odessa has been dancing with Tilted, Paradise Moves and Dance Currents Inc. She is currently enrolled in a ballet syllabus certification program with the Royal Academy of Dance and is teaching at Miss Maria’s School of Dance in Watertown.

Janelle Gilchrist

Janelle received her early training at the Harriet Hoctor Ballet School, Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre, and Boston Ballet School. She has danced professionally with the Hartford Ballet, New Jersey Ballet and BalletRox, Boston. In addition, Janelle has performed with Legends in Concert, Celebrity Cruises, Anna Myer, David Parker, and Island Moving Company. As a member of the screen actors guild, Janelle has held small roles in several major movie productions, including 27 Dresses (20th Century Fox, 2008) and What’s your Number (Contrafilms, 2011). Janelle has served as choreographer and casting director of two flash mob performances for Media Direct Productions, in Boston and Las Vegas. Janelle has worked as company manager for Balletrox and coordinated the BalletRox dance programs in Boston Public Schools. She taught Tony Williams Urban Nutcracker to students in Riga, Latvia. Janelle has received a MA from Mount Holyoke college and taught at the Boston Arts Academy for several years. Currently, Janelle is dancing with Erica Schwartz and Dance Currents Inc., and teaching at Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre, the Boston Conservatory, Tony Williams Dance Center and Step by Step in Waltham, MA. Janelle leads her own troupe called: Janelle Gilchrist Dance Troupe (www.janellegilchrist.com).

Samantha

Govoni

(2015 - 2017) As a youth Sam trained at Boston Ballet School and Boston Youth Moves, and at summer sessions at North Carolina Dance Theatre, Boston Ballet, and Providence Ballet. Sam graduated from The Boston Conservatory with a B.F.A. in Performing Arts. Her international training includes workshops in Belgium, Austria, The Netherlands, and Macedonia. As a freelance dancer, Samantha has performed with Jessie Jeanne & Dancers, Vimoksha, Kat Nasti Dance, Urban Nutcracker, Dance Currents Inc., and dSundanceX, among others.

Mina

Muraoka

(2009- 2013) Mina was born in Japan and began her formal ballet training with the Noriyasu Ikegame Ballet Studio under the direction of Noriyasu Ikegame and Yoko Ota. She has performed in a number of performances and festivals both in the United States and Japan. She is a PhD candidate of Jewish History at Brandeis University. Dancing has been a major element of her life since she was a child, and she feels honored to participate in this wonderful project to commemorate and fundraise for the victims of Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami 2011.

Lauren

Previte

(2012 - present) A Boston native, Lauren began her dance training at a young age with Melissa Kelley-Clark. After high school, she attended the Nutmeg Conservatory where she studied ballet and Graham technique. Here she performed many classical ballet variations and Graham repertory, including Le Corsaire, The Nutcracker, Giselle, and Martha Graham's "Acts of Light". After a year at Nutmeg she was thrilled to be accepted into the Boston Conservatory, where she earned her BFA in dance. During her time at the Conservatory, she performed works by Jose Limon, Daniel McCusker, Gianni DiMarco, and Alwin Nikolais. Lauren was also a pioneer in establishing the first dance outreach program at the conservatory with teacher Denise Pons and fellow dancer Emily Singleton. Lauren continues to train and perform in the Boston area and is honored to be working with Dance Currents.  She often serves as rehearsal director.

Avery

Saulneir de Reyes 

Avery Saulnier De Reyes is a freelance dancer and guest artist with City Ballet of Boston. She recently produced her first live program with the Choreographers Collaborative and has begun to explore work on film, performing with Columbia Pictures, ArtsEmerson and in Cambridge Symphony Orchestra’s Nutcracker and The Sleeping Beauty. Avery received her classical training at Boston Ballet, American Ballet Theater, Lexington School of Ballet and Integrarte. She is immensely grateful for the love and support of family friends, teachers, directors and colleagues and the unending patience, knowledge, and kindness of mentors Carlos Molina, Érica Cornejo, Gino di Marco, Adriana Suárez, Donna Silva and Linda diBona.

Li-Ann

Lim

(2009 - present) Li-Ann Lim began her dance training at the Lexington School of Ballet and continued her dance studies at the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City.  In 2004 she joined Chen and Dancers.  She later moved to California and received a MFA in Dance at the University of California, Irvine.  While in California, Li-Ann served as adjunct faculty at Fullerton College and Scripps College and continued performing, appearing with the Ziggurat Theatre Ensemble and Rosanna Gamson/World Wide.  Since returning to the Boston area in 2009, she has continued to teach ballet and modern dance.  She currently dances with Dance Currents, Lorraine Chapman, The Company and North Atlantic Ballet.
